Why this approach?
Building on my earlier project, The Façade, I drew inspiration from architectural facade. In architecture, a façade is an exterior wall, often decorative and imposing, shaping a building’s first impression.
Theory related and why:
Conceptual Art Theory aligns with my designs which prioritises the concept as the most important aspect of the work over its technical execution. The designs were not intended to be realistic representations but rather abstract interpretations that capture their essence.
Process:
Architectural facades often incorporate curved lines and intricate detailing. I translated this by drawing lines in Procreate, focusing on fluidity and rhythm, and warped these lines into dynamic forms.
